Semyon Bychkov conducts Dvořák’s Seventh Symphony

“That fellow has more ideas than all the rest of us”, Johannes Brahms once said about Antonín Dvořák. “Anyone else could scavenge main themes out of his scraps.” His Seventh Symphony shows that Dvořák was also a master of developing his ideas. It sounds dark, even a little harsh; its form is compact, its contrasting ideas grow organically. Semyon Bychkov, a long-time associate of the Berliner Philharmoniker, presents it here with the orchestra.
