Piano fans in particular are in for a treat this season – with performances by stars such as Martha Argerich, Yuja Wang, Daniil Trifonov, Mitsuko Uchida and Leif Ove Andsnes, as well as debuts by two up-and-coming pianists. Former violist Brett Dean returns to the orchestra as Composer in Residence, and chief conductor Kirill Petrenko presents, among other works, Wagner’s Die Walküre and Beethoven’s Missa solemnis.
